Day 713 February 2020 in South Africa ⋅ ☀️ 33 °C

Try as I might, I can’t find any text for my stay here so I guess I must have been a bit cream crackered at th time. Most of our band of happy campers camped. I stayed in a lodge instead to enjoy a bit of luxury. The following is some blurb from the Highlanders Campsite website

Highlanders is conveniently situated in the scenic region of Namaqualand on the Cape/Namibia N7 Route & is the perfect stopover. It is nestled among the wine farms on the Olifants river, at the foot of the Cedarberg mountain range in the Klawer wine region. The setting is simply stunning!

The owner Sparky, has a mass of experience in the hospitality trade as an ex-overland truck driver/guide. He has put this knowledge to good use in his design of the camp, ensuring all camping needs are met.

Highlanders is set on 3 levels therefore giving campers plenty of space between each of the 5 individual camp areas. Each camp has a ‘braai’ pit, sink unit & power. Our latest addition is our 12 roomed (ensuite & aircon) Lodge. There are stunning mountain views from the solar-powered hot showers .

Here are some pics I kersnaffled from their website as I couldnt find any of my own. I think I was in purdah at the time.
