The rocky road to somewhere

We’re on this seriously desolate but beautiful mountain road enroute to our next bushcamp. It’s an amazing feat of civil engineering as the road is blasted out of living rock and towering up 100 or more meters on either side. The rock looks very unstable and porous; more like a huge pile of builders rubble really. Alarmingly, there are lots of big rocks on the road from recent rockfalls. Gulp.
