Zamaim Fuel Station Stop
Stopped here on the middle of nowhere for a call of nature break and a coffee.
The place was a petrol station and there were no other human habitations around. There was a mosque though. Mosques seem to be everywhere people congregate although I’m not sure which comes first, the mosque or the people. Anyway, they provide a useful social function of ablutions: somewhere to wee and wash.
The fuel station had a shop too but it was extremely basic. It only sold water, cups of nescafe with condensed milk or black tea. Nothing else. I had a coffee and it cost 0.2 RiaI. I believe you could order food as well as we saw a person eating a meal on a mat on the floor.
We’re away from the sophisticated Oman now and really in the desert.
Back on board again to trundle onwards.
