Bushcamp at Takkat n’ Amassine
After a pretty hair raising journey, we arrived at our camp. Initially, it was uncertain where we might pitch our tents as the area was very hilly and very rocky and there was really no level space around. However, our wonderful team found a spot and we parked up the truck, set up the kitchen and went off to pitch our tents. I found a reasonably flat place and stuck my tent up. This time the ground was quite soft. Actually, it was really sand. It was very windy so I was a bit worried that the tent might blow away when I wasn’t in it so I got some huge rocks to put inside. I also double pegged the four corners of the tent to make sure it would stay in place. It worked okay. A few of the other tents blew away but their owners caught them and anchored them a bit more firmly.
Then we had our evening meal, always the high point of today, and hung around for a while talking. As it was getting on the bit late now we all peeled off bed. I think I read until about 10:00 and then went spark out.

I got up next morning at 6am, for breakfast at 7am and departure at 8am This means that I get, or at least I have an option to get, 8 hours sleep a night, which for me is more than enough. I could easily function on 6:00 but 8 hours sleep is a real luxury.
We departed on time at 8am, making sure that we left nothing behind except our tracks in the sand and took nothing away except memories. A very enjoyable day, all being said.
