We arrived in Marrakech early afternoon after a relatively short ride from our last campsite. The roads were very different to the ones yesterday and were nearly all modern, surfaced and with dual lanes.

Although I thought I had a good night sleep the previous night, as soon as the bus started rolling I nodded off and went into a deep sleep for most of the journey. I woke up a couple of times and then went back to sleep again. I think I must have been fairly tired.

We were camped in a valley about 2,000 m high and the wind, though intermittent, was pretty fierce at times. My tent made a lot of noise as the outer layer flapped about in the wind. I was a little bit worried it might detach but was confident enough that it was fairly well anchored to the internal shell of the tent and also pegged down to the ground by six pegs. I’m so amazing that I did sleep for 8 hours without waking up, except once to have a wee, but the noise stopped me from going into a deep sleep. I had a lot of dreams that night so this would indicate that I spent more time than usual in REM sleep as opposed to deep sleep.

We stopped halfway as a observation point to look over the valley below. It was a stunning view with layers of clouds and mountains going into the distance. Although the distance mountains were a bit faded by mist or maybe pollution, the whole sight was very very beautiful. There was also a small restaurant there and I bought a cup of amazing coffee. Then back on the bus again and off the Marrakech.
